Understanding Nonprofits’ Needs And How We Can Help! Part 1

The Nasson Community Center and Little Theatre are a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the people of central York County, Maine through diverse recreational, cultural, and civic programs that promote community and individual growth. As a trusted partner, we at Connected Office Technologies sat down with Emily Sheffield, the Executive Assistant at the Nasson Community Center and Little Theatre. We wanted to ask some very important questions to help us build a stronger partnership with them.

We asked Emily was she thought was the biggest challenge as a nonprofit. She told us that fundraising, grant-writing and finding volunteers were at the top of the list. They do have some volunteers, including her daughter, who will help with graphics for advertisements, but managing the office and being the only one who controls the website and social media presence for the Nasson Community Center and Little Theatre can be difficult. This currently makes word of mouth their biggest resource for fundraising and attracting more volunteers and people to come to the facility. With the Little Theatre, many of the performers will advertise for themselves too, through their own social media channels, bringing more awareness to the Nasson Community Center and Little Theatre.

Now, how can we all help? Connected Office Technologies has sponsored many shows, such as Bob Marley at the Little Theatre, and will continue to do so. You can too! There are many ways to sponsor, and/or volunteer your time by helping out at the center, or at an event. Some upcoming shows include - A Youth Theater Company "Fractured Shakespeare", and The Senior Theater "The Sassy Seniors Sing along" both in May 2019.
